Will the Defendant Please Rise in Capitol Hill?
Go way down South and you'll find Capitol Hill. It is quickly becoming one of the most popular sites on the entire Robert Trent Jones golf trail. So popular that there is buzz about The Judge becoming a site for the U.S. Open.
O.k. I'm getting a little ahead of myself. Let's get a close up of these "masters of art" and see what all the talk is about.
Capitol Hill
comprised of The Judge, The Senator, and The Legislator is named due to the approximation of Montgomery, AL - the capitol of AL.
The Judge, has been consistently ranked in the top 50 public courses in America. It is considered "The Looker", the beauty of the group with stunning views. Namely a 200 acre backdrop of the Alabama River and don't forget the Montgomery Skyline offering it's history and lure as a decorator.
The Senator, is a Scottish links style course - not a wife cheatin' money grubbin' back stabber as the name would suggest.
160 pot hole bunkers dot this course along with its partner in crime 20 - 40 ft mounds. The design of this course make you feel as if you are secluded on each hole.
The Legislator, gets back to traditional fare with pine trees and bluffs. I have friends that absolutely rave about this course and the other two. It is hard to believe that they left room for a 4th course to be built in the future. Don't mess with the Holy Trinity (The Judge, The Senator, The Legislator). Well, o.k. only if you can match the majesty of the other three.
